all the world's a stage

it sure is a dog-eat-dog world out there with everyone clamouring for the position of top dog. a power struggle can exist even in the simplest situations like for example fighting for the place of team captain in little league. competitiveness is inherent to us all, where maybe only the extent of our competitive streaks may differ. its only when dirty pool becomes apparent that this competitive nature begins to look ugly.

before this turns into a formal essay, let me just say that it annoys the fuck outta me when people assume leadership and begin dictating and assigning tasks. like seriously, who died and made you boss ?

but that aside, stress levels haven't quite hit its peak despite the alarming amount of assignments and deadlines drawing closer. i've still found time to disappear from group discussions, play wow, and have my car "break down" thus my tardy debut. honestly, how much more of this bullshit can i pull off ?

i think we've been treated like babies all through secondary school and jc. either that or we've just been completely unreceptive to the various efforts made to get us to grow the fuck up :D but hey, look who the fuck is suffering now. the dumb infants have to go thru toddler years, childhood and teenage life in the short span of 24 hours and be ready for the cynicism, competition and complete solitude that awaits in the waking moments of tertiary education.

i find it terribly deceiving the way they embrace us with their fun-filled ccas, slack timetables which include 4-day weeks, and super cyber atmosphere where everything runs on wireless and emails and powerpoint lectures sent to yer inbox a day in advance. seriously, i dont spend enough time in school to indulge in all its ever so "cool" facilities and what not. i have dog-walking duties tht'll probably go on for the next 13 years or so.
